Tsang Kin-Wah

 

Tsang Kin-Wah was born in Shantou, China in 1976. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Camberwell College of Arts, the London Institute. The text-based artist represented his country at Venice Biennale in 2015.
 
Tsang had his solo exhibitions such as Tsang Kin-Wah, at Yvon Lambert Gallery in New York (2007) and Paris (2008), MAM Project 015: Tsang Kin-Wah, at Mori Art Museum (2011), etc., and participated in various group exhibitions such as Asian Art Biennial 2011 (National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung), Aichi Triennale 2010 (Aichi Art Center, Nagoya), 17th Biennale of Sydney (Cockatoo Island, Sydney), 10th Biennale de Lyon 2009 (La Sucrière, Lyon), Drawn in the Clouds – Asian Contemporary Art (KIASMA Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki), Memories of the Future(Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul), Artificial Nature (Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai, Shanghai), The State of Things (National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, Oslo), etc.
 
Tsang is a recipient of the Tokyo TDC Prize 2007 (Tokyo Type Directors Club), 2005 Sovereign Asian Art Prize (Sovereign Art Foundation), Winner of the Prize of Excellence (Hong Kong Art Biennial 2001), etc. His works are found in key collections worldwide, including DSL Collection, Deutsch Bank Collection (Hong Kong), Mori Art Museum (Tokyo), Museum of Design Zurich (Switzerland), Hong Kong Museum of Art, Camberwell College of Arts (London), Sovereign Art Foundation, Thomas Shao Collection, etc.

He lives and works in Hong Kong.
